This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the 5th annual Palm Beach County Curlfriends event as press, and let me tell you...it was a natural girl's dream! All the curly girls came out with their best kinks and coils to talk all things natural hair. The Palm Beach County Curlfriends event has been around for some time now, and caters to bringing curlfriends in the South Florida area together. They also incorporate tons of local vendors, national brand sponsors such as Mixed Chicks, Aunt Jackie's and more to create a true experience for attendees.
Miami's Swim Week is THE event for all things swimwear, and if you follow me on Instagram...you should know I love a good bikini. With that, it was a match made in heaven to be invited to several shows during Swim Week this year. Now this was my first Swim Week EVER, and I was happy to get on the lists for shows from designers like Beach Bunny, ACACIA, Sports Illustrated, Roberto Cavalli, DSquared2 and a handful of others. Needless to say I was honored and excited to be able to get the full experience of Swim Week.
Last month I had the honor of being able to not only attend, but speak at the Philadelphia Black Public Relations Society's FIRST ever conference. To say I was honored to be a part of this engagement and interact with so many distinguished PR Professionals would be a complete understatement.
There's no secret that this girl is not the biggest fan of leaving the house; whether it's Netflixing, strolling through Pinterest (which has become my most recent obsession) or updating old content, being a homebody is what I do best. But you know what will get me out of the house? Good vibes with friends, food and drinks...pretty simple, right? That's exactly what I found at PlugIN Karaoke.
Can I just share that Mother's Day weekend was a total SUCCESS and part of that was thanks to Gulfstream Park's Home & Design Fair. I had planned to do a little something special for my mother for the weekend, but I felt that being able to take her to this event was the perfect plan for Mother's Day weekend.
To say it was an honor to speak at BlackTech Week's Office Hours alongside Mattie James and Anabel Mendez would be a total understatement. Seriously, I was on cloud nine when I received an invitation to be a part of this panel.
Amidst the madness that occurred on my birthday...(Trump got voted into the White House)...I saw the light at the end of the tunnel which was my birthday weekend getaway with some of my blogging boos. Everyone asked me what I wanted to do for my weekend and all I wanted was to be surrounded by like-minded people and to be cute. Yes, I wanted to be extremely cute for my birthday. You tell me if I actually accomplished my goal in the comments.
For those of you who didn't know, once upon a time before She's Candid existed, there was a blog called The Budget Divaa that was designed to showcase living fashionably on a budget. That little blog did some pretty dope things back in the day from national campaigns to throwing a super sweet Tea Party to celebrate the second Blogiversary.
This past week I had the opportunity…no I’m sorry, the PLEASURE of being able to attend the CARE for Crohn’s Foundation’s 2nd Annual Fashion and Art Mixer in Miami, FL. The concept of being able to bring out the beauty and ART that was exuded from Sybille Guichard as a Crohn’s survivor is truly beautiful.
